The story is told through the eyes of Syd, at first I found her to be really, really annoying and wanted to smack her across the head but as I turned each page I could see why she would be so upset and crying all the time. Her mother being the head of a very powerful coven wasn’t enough she also had a father as a demon. All Syd seemed to want was to be normal. I felt sorry for her in school always being bullied by Alison and her clan. But Syd found peace playing football that her mother managed to destroy too without knowing, so I could see where all Syd’s frustration came from and to top that off she had her sisters meen’s to think of and a crazy grandmother.

When Quaid and his parents arrive in town to join the coven things start to get very interesting and very complicated and the only one that Syd has to talk to is her Cat Sassy who was a know it all, but I enjoyed their banter.

Syd is kind, brave but also a bit spoilt here and there, and her choice in boys is awful. I HATED brad what an idiot. I couldn’t stand him at all he was so dull it was painful like watching paint dry. Quaid would so be my choice even if he was a jerk at times but I think in book two she will give into him and stay away from brad.

The mixture of paranormal creatures was cool and I loved Uncle Frank and Sunny the vampires they added a nice amount of fun to the story.
The Plot was strong but I knew very quickly who was behind the attacks, the only one I couldn’t figure out was the dog, I had someone pinned but got it wrong so it was a good surprise.

Overall an interesting read minus BRAD. I would recommend this book to all fantasy paranormal readers.
